Overall, Vista's new way of handling photos looks very similar to the way that Windows Media Player 11 handles music. The Photo Print Wizard uses Windows Vista Color Management as a way to ensure that what you see is what you print, although nothing can compensate for a poor printer. It will have wizards for mobile device synchronization, CD/DVD creation, photo printing, and e-mail. Vista's Photo Gallery is also full of wizards for all of the important media management tasks. Once a photo is selected, it is opened in Viewer mode where users can see detailed information about the image and also modify it via the Info Pane and Fix Pane respectively. The pieces that make up Viewer mode include the Navigation Tree, List View, Quick Search, Toolbar, Info Pane (for metadata), and Navigation Bar. Windows Photo Gallery has a Viewer and a Gallery mode, where the Gallery mode gives users a thumbnail view of pictures and videos. The Microsoft Photography Blog has some new screenshots and an overview of Windows Vista's Windows Photo Gallery, which houses both photos and videos.
